Overview To assist in planning, development, preparation and delivery of Family Resource Programs for families with young children, particularly Summer-in-the-Park. To assist in providing safe, supporting, enriching and creative parent/caregiver/child programs.

Responsibilities Assist the Family Resource Centre Co-ordinator to plan and implement creative and stimulating program activities for infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers and their parents/caregivers, including gross motor and art activities, music, and reading circle. Assist in the planning of activities, organization of supplies and materials, equipment set up, snack preparation and clean up of Summer-in-the-Park program (an outdoor program serving 100+ parents/caregivers and the children in their care, four mornings per week). In the family drop-in and Toy Library programs, assist in the maintenance of a safe, supportive and enriching environment conducive to the development of physical, social and cognitive skills in children. In the family drop-in and Toy Library programs, assist in the maintenance of a supportive, co-operative program environment, which facilitates parent/caregiver involvement. Assist in the maintenance of all program areas, including kitchen, in a safe, clean and inviting manner, including washing and disinfecting toys and equipment, and ensuring general tidiness.

Experience and Qualifications CONDITIONS OF FUNDING require that applicants be attending school in 2012-2013 (high school, college or university) and returning to school in September 2013. Early Childhood Education student preferred; experience working with and planning activities for infants, toddlers, preschoolers in family group settings; current CPR/first aid; satisfactory Police Reference Check.
