Overview Work as a team to plan fun, safe day summer camp activities for children ages 4 - 12.

Responsibilities Responsible for supervision, safety, care and recreational programming for children ages 4 to 12 in a summer day camp. Work as a team to plan and implement fun, safe, age-appropriate and developmentally-appropriate activities: sports, games, arts & crafts, science activities, swimming, music & drama, day trips/outings. Responsible for safety of children and planning of quality, fun, safe camp activities. One week of orientation and training; nine weeks of camp.

Experience and Qualifications CONDITIONS OF FUNDING require that applicants be attending school full-time in 2012-2013 (high school, college or university) and returning to school in September 2013. Experience in a day camp setting preferred, and/or other experience working with children (ages 4 to 12). Education/experience in recreational programming and child development ("ages & stages"). Energetic team player; enthusiasm and genuine enjoyment of children. Sensitivity to issues of cultural, social, linguistic, and economic diversity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to swim. Subject to satisfactory Police Reference Check.
