Responsibilities Timber Pricing Branch provides provincial leadership in timber pricing, timber measurement, forest revenue forecasting and forest revenue billing. The Branch works closely with BC Timber Sales, Compliance and Enforcement, Regional Revenue staff and Ministry of Finance to ensure that the Ministry mandate related to forest revenues is achieved. The Branch is responsible for timber pricing, measurement, billing, revenue reporting and forecasting, BC Timber Sales (BCTS) related policy, and policies related to revenue oversight. The Director, Pricing provides leadership to the revenue program and directs the design and implementation of the province's stumpage system that produces a fair return for the province's timber, while ensuring a globally competitive forest industry. The Director represents the province's interests in provincial, national and international meetings regarding stumpage and related trade issues, leads special revenue initiatives and facilitates strategic responses to urgent or emerging issues impacting the program or ministry. Experience and Qualifications To be considered for this position your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have the following education and experience: A University degree in a natural resource science or related studies, preferably augmented by specialized training in economics or business administration; OR A University degree in economics, business administration, finance or related studies, preferably augmented by training in natural resource management; OR An advanced degree, with at least one degree major in a field of study related to the position. An equivalent combination of natural resource management experience and training may be considered. Preferably 3 or more years of experience in a senior management capacity including business and organizational planning. Considerable experience dealing with industry economic issues. Considerable current experience leading staff and work teams of diverse composition including change management, vision and goal setting, coaching, team building, and mentoring. Experience dealing with politically sensitive and provincially significant issues and with developing policy, procedures and corporate practices. Experience in strategic business planning, procurement and financial management.
