Join the FICOM team and make an important contribution to the economic stability of BC Analyst, Information Management The Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) is looking for talented financial professionals with post-secondary education in a related field (economics, business, finance, law); experience in the financial services industry; and experience in risk management, governance, audit and/or regulatory work in the financial services sector. In the challenging role of Analyst, Information Management, you will apply your experience in internal controls and enterprise risk management to oversee the collection and management of information from regulated financial institutions. This position ensures information systems meet all user requirements and satisfy the objectives of effectively monitoring statutory compliance and risk. You stay current in a constantly changing business environment and make recommendations regarding future changes to regulatory financial reporting and information system. If you are an experienced information management specialist with the initiative to succeed in this key operational role, we look forward to your application. We are responsible for administering nine statutes that regulate the pension, financial services and real estate sectors in British Columbia. The primary focus of this regulation is to ensure that: Institutions and pension plans in these sectors remain solvent; Market conduct requirements for these sectors are respected; Unsuitable individuals do not participate in financial service markets; and Through the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation, insure credit union deposits and non-equity shares. Experience and Qualifications Degree in a field related to commerce, business administration, finance, economics, actuarial science, accounting, management information systems or another relevant discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) Minimum three (3) years of experience developing, interpreting and/or applying accounting policy, standards/guidelines in the financial sector, trade association, regulatory/supervisory agency or a related field are required. Minimum one (1) year experience in information management and overseeing corporate financial information system.
