Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, NRS Transformation Victoria BC Salary: $69,905.24 - $80,033.62 annually, Plus 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment Are you looking for an opportunity to use your IM/IT expertise to support Transformation in the Natural Resource Sector? The Natural Resource Sector (NRS) is a key driver of economic activity and employment in the province. To support the growth of the economy while providing effective environmental stewardship, the NRS must transform to become an integrated manager of BC's natural resources and to make authorization decisions that appropriately balance social, economic and environmental objectives. The Natural Resource Permitting Project (NRPP) involves a significant investment to integrate legislation, processes, technology, data and the workforce across six Ministries and other Agencies. NRPP is a long-term, large scale initiative that will be involve dozens of projects implemented in a phased approach. NRPP will deliver meaningful benefits to industry, First Nations, non-government organizations (NGOs) and the public. The IM/IT positions within the NRPP will be part of a unique team that works in close collaboration with the NRS Information Management Branch, the Transformation Secretariat team, cross-government agencies and a diverse and skilled group of operational and strategic vendors, as well as a wide range of internal and external clients and stakeholders. As a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist your role is to support software quality assurance and software testing for enterprise/sectoral information systems in support of Ministry or Government strategic and operational goals. You will organize and oversee projects concerned with quality assurance and testing of new infrastructures and services that will support the business applications and data resources of the Ministry or Government, and devise ways to ensure that quality systems are provided to all client groups including staff, external business clients, and citizens. Experience and Qualifications

In order for applicants to be considered for this position, their resume and must clearly demonstrate that they have the following education and experience: Degree, diploma, or certification in the computer science field. An equivalent combination of education and training may be considered. A minimum of 3 years working experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist in a complex systems environment. Experience with all aspects of systems development using a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern Software Engineering practices. Experience leading professional staff, project teams, contractors and/or consultants. A minimum of 1 year experience supervising staff.
