Join the FICOM team and make an important contribution to the economic stability of BC Multiple positions available The Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) is looking for talented financial professionals with post-secondary education in a related field (economics, business, finance, law); experience in the financial services industry; and experience in risk management, governance, audit and/or regulatory work in the financial services sector. FICOM safeguards confidence and stability in British Columbia's financial sector by protecting consumers from undue loss and unfair market conduct. We are responsible for administering nine statutes that regulate the pension, financial services and real estate sectors in British Columbia. The primary focus of this regulation is to ensure that: Institutions and pension plans in these sectors remain solvent; Market conduct requirements for these sectors are respected; Unsuitable individuals do not participate in financial service markets; and Through the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation, insure credit union deposits and non-equity shares.
