Overview Tests software to ensure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. Develops and applies customized test procedures for the organization's products. Communicates with product developers and technical support specialists on product issues. Operates under moderate supervision. Usually reports to the Quality Assurance/Testing Manager. Typically requires 18 months to three years of experience in development, research, or product testing.

Responsibilities 70% Performs non-complex testing and de-bugging tasks according to company's QA process. Plans, schedules and implements testing projects. Designs and develops quality testing procedures; updates and modifies existing tests as necessary. Defines test objectives and writes test cases. Performs non-complex functional, application, regression and performance tests. 20% Plans and implements automated testing. 10% Assists product developers and technical product support specialists in solution of non-complex installation problems.

Experience and Qualifications Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in business or computer science. Typically requires 18 months to three years of experience in development, research or product testing.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
General testing skills. General understanding of the QA process. Good application knowledge and use awareness. Able to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules.
Equipment and Applications
PCs and various software applications.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. No special physical demands required.
