PROGRAM WEBSITE Woodworking Document of Achievement - Assiniboine Community College Assiniboine Community College's Woodworking Document of Achievement is an 8-course beginner's program designed for students with none to little woodworking experience. The Program will introduce learners to the skills required in the field of woodworking from the 'basic to more advanced levels.' Once 'the first five levels of woodworking, plus one optional course,' have been successfully completed, students may apply for their Woodworking Document of Achievement by sending a letter along with 'a listing the levels of woodworking' completed to the Community Learning Office. The Program is intended as a general introduction to woodworking and not necessarily as a means to advance one's career opportunities in the craft or related trades. However, the Program will provide a basis from which graduates can pursue further training in woodworking or related fields. Generally, professional woodworkers are often employed in various aspects of the construction, wood, and wood products and manufacturing industries. Woodworkers may, for instance, be involved in constructing, install, renovating, repairing, and/or restoring the interior woodwork of commercial, residential, and other buildings or in manufacturing cabinets, furniture, and other fixtures. Among the most common employers are construction firms, custom and repair shops, furniture manufacturers, repairers, retailers, and stores, and millwork companies.
