PROGRAM WEBSITE Lumber Manufacturing Certificate - College of New Caledonia The College of New Caledonia's Lumber Manufacturing Certificate is a full-time, 15-week program, delivered at the Nechako Campus, which will provide students with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to enable them to find 'employment in the lumber manufacturing industry.' Among the major components of the Program are computer, employability, and mathematics skills, on-the-job work placement experience, overview of the lumber manufacturing industry, safety certification, and skill certification for entry-level positions. The Certificate has been developed in cooperation and consultation with industry to ensure that graduates have the academic and practical training and experience required by potential employers, especially those in northern British Columbia and Alberta. The Program currently does not list any specific requirements for admission. Therefore, generally, to be eligible, applicants should have completed Grade 12 or equivalent. If applicants do not have Grade 12, but 'are deficient by no more than two courses or eight credits for BC Secondary School graduation, but do have English 12, English 045 or equivalent may be admitted as having Grade 12.' Moreover, students who are 19 years or older may apply under mature student status while those who have been home schooled must consult with a College of New Caledonia Counselor 'before submitting an application.'
