PROGRAM WEBSITE AEC Police Technology (Inuit & First Nations) - John Abbott College John Abbott College's 720-hour Attestation d'Ttudes collTgiales (AEC) in Police Technology program for Inuit and First Nations students readies the latter for both 'employment in Police Forces throughout the province of Quebec' and 'to attend the 15 week basic training program at the +cole nationale de police du QuTbec in Nicolet, Quebec.' Among the major topics to covered are Accident Investigation, Criminal Code and Penal Procedures, Crisis and Youth Intervention, Highway Code, Observation and Communication Techniques, Physical Education, Physical Intervention and Self-Defence, and Police Functions. The Program will also include Problem solving Workshops, Team Building, and Time and Stress Management. To be eligible for the Program, applicants must be of First Nations and/or Inuit descent and have a Secondary V Diploma or equivalent, promise of employment, and Valid driver's license (4A license required for l'+cole nationale de Police du QuTbec). Applicants will be required to undergo a medical examination to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable of handling the pressures of the Program and career field.
