Keyano College Established: 1965 (Originally known as the Alberta Vocational Centre (AVC) in Fort McMurray but was renamed Keyano College in 1975). Number of Students Programs Keyano College offers academic, career, and university transfer programs leading to associate degrees, certificates, and diplomas. Two-year university transfer programs in a variety of disciplines and more than 28 certificate and diploma options are available. The College also provides university pre-professional transfer options in 12 areas including Architecture, Chiropractic, Dentistry, Journalism, Law, Medicine, Medical Lab Science, Optometry, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Medicine, Social Work, and Veterinary. Apprenticeship programs, combining classroom instruction and workplace experience, are offered in Carpentry, Electrical, Heavy Equipment Technician, Millwright, and Welder. Interesting Facts Keyano College was established in 1965 and became a public community college in 1978. Currently, the College is pursuing a Strategic Plan through which it aims to determine key social and economic trends in order to develop and/or re-organize its courses and programs accordingly. |
