Young People's Language School of Canada is based Ottawa and has the distinction of being one of the few language institutes that specifically caters to the English language needs of students between the ages of 13 and 19. Specialized high school foundation courses and university foundation courses are available for those who desire to pursue further studies in Canada. Many international students come to Canada every year in order to study, either at the high school or university level. Some of the main obstacles that many of these students face are the language barrier as well as difficulty in interacting in a new society and culture. Young People's Language School of Canada helps international students build their English language skills and social skills so they get well-equipped to deal with their further studies and are be able to integrate into their new environment in Canada. The institute's high school foundation course covers language skills as well as cultural understanding and interaction with Canadian students. The university foundation course covers subjects such as mathematics and business along with language skills. Young People's Language School of Canada also has a Homestay program which offers accommodation for the students at the homes of a specially chosen host families. A specialized Homestay team is also available 24 hours a day to help with any issues the students may have. Students also have the option of staying with a family that speaks their own language.
