Tom Baker Cancer Centre is committed towards creating a Cancer Free Future by managing and funding joint cancer research as well as by providing prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for the disease. Tom Baker Cancer Centre is a certified charity, set up under the Cancer Programs Act with the intention of raising and receiving funds on behalf of the Alberta Cancer Board. Alberta Cancer Foundation funds supports cancer research programs, patient education and financial assistance schemes, cancer care programs in all the cancer centres in Alberta and equipment and technology achievement. The Alberta Cancer Board is the Provincial Health Authority that is responsible for operating cancer amenities and programs in Alberta. The services of the outfit include - early detection of cancer, its prevention, treatment, research and executing the various cancer prevention or cure programs. Tom Baker Cancer Centre is totally committed to solving all the complex problems of cancer, starting from its prevention to its treatment to its support, with the help of research and surveillance. Our commitment is to the highest standard applied to all cancer disciplines. The Alberta Cancer Board is dedicated to a leadership role in diminishing the bane of cancer with the help of excellent research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, palliation and if possible, cure of cancer. Five separate divisions carry out this initiative.
