S.K. Driver Training Ltd. is a registered private career college that trains students for careers as professional truck drivers. The training offered at the institution is exempt from GST and tuiton fees above $100 are tax deductible. The institution offers in-vehicle training as well as classroom training. At S.K. Driver Training Ltd., the instructors are certified experts with many years of experience. Theory as well as practical in-vehicle classes ensures that the students are trained in a balanced way. The institution offers basic Class 1 and 3 license preparatory driver training programs. The instructors are charged on an hourly basis as each student has different abilities to learn. It usually takes about 18 hours [maximum] for students who take up Class 1 programs and about 16 hours for students who take up Class 3 programs. The institution also offers an Extended Class 1 driver training program. Students can avail of Alberta Student Loans or use EI if they are eligible. The institution offers an Airbrake Endorsement program with theory as well as practical sessions. Students are trained to adjust the brakes as well as conduct pre-trip inspections. The transportation of dangerous goods program is of 4 hours duration and is offered every four weeks. The institution also offers an Extended Length Endorsement program. The institution ensures that the equipment and trucks used are the latest and that they are maintained and serviced properly to ensure student/instructor safety.
