Rhodes Career College has been providing Wellness and Life Skills Coaching and Counselling programs for the past ten years. It is accredited by the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia. It is located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Its programs are unique in that they are heavily based on the experiential model of learning. Students are provided extensive hands-on training so that they can make new discoveries, experiment with their ideas, reflect on their past experiences, and develop new attitudes and skills. Courses are upgraded on a regular basis so that they remain relevant to the current job market. The Wellness Counsellor Diploma Program is a 57-week program and is designed to provide life skills in counselling and coaching and intense training in physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. In the Life Skills Instructor Diploma Program (32 weeks) students are taught how to plan, prepare, and deliver life skills lessons and coaching to individuals and groups. Graduates earn a certificate in basic counselling, employment, substance misuse, sexual abuse and trauma, family, and youth. The Life Skills Coach Certificate Program is a 12-week program. Graduates are certified to conduct life skills programs and provide individual coaching. The program also teaches students how to establish their own business, because many Life Skills Coaches are self-employed. Rhodes Career College has well-qualified and experienced instructors. Teaching methods include lectures, discussion groups, field trips, videos, guest speakers, and presentations.
